Pools & Spas: Public Use

Environmental Health specialists conduct inspections to ensure recreational water facilities in which the public swims meet minimum standards for health and safety.

Teton County Environmental Health is offering a Certified Pool Operator Course November 15 - 16th, 2023. Please read this informational brochure and stop by the office to sign up in person.

Recreational Water Facilities Regulations

All pools and spas in Wyoming are required to have a Certified Pool Operator (CPO) to oversee the operation of their licensed facility. Any pool that allows a portion of the public to use the pool must obtain a license after the construction of the pool is approved through the plan review process. Recreational water facilities are required to test their water reach calendar month that they are open.

The purpose of swimming pool regulations is to reduce the potential for transmitting communicable diseases associated with aquatic facilities.
