Commissioners Plan to Reopen County Buildings to Public Access

The Teton County Board of County Commissioners voted today to end public access restrictions at County Buildings as of Tuesday, May 26th with the exception of the Courthouse which will remain locked to public access until June 1st.    Social distancing measures will be in place as buildings reopen and the public is encouraged to continue conducting business via alternate methods whenever possible.  Some County offices will be closing at 4:30pm to allow for end of day cleaning, please call ahead or check the website for office hours.

Many County services can be provided online at or by telephone by calling an office or department directly. Drop boxes are also located outside of the Administration building and the Affordable Housing Department. The Board of County Commissioners’ meetings will continue to be hosted via Zoom and open to the public virtually. The public will also be able to participate in those meetings and make comment in person in the Commissioners’ chambers while meetings are in progress, under appropriate social distancing parameters.

Property Tax payments and vehicle registrations can be completed online at  In addition, there is a drop box that is at the Administration building for dropping payments, the registration or receipt will be mailed back to you.  The Housing Department also has a drop box located on the outside of their building.

The Clerk of District Court continues to encourage patrons to call or visit to review all available alternatives to in person visits including but not limited to electronic filing opportunities and court case inquiries by email. Appointments for passports continue to be required and are also now required for onsite public records research. Questions, requests and appointments can be made by calling 733-2533 or emailing

If you must do business in person, please consider the following: use of cloth facial coverings is encouraged when in County buildings, whenever possible send only one person from your household to conduct business, when in County buildings please follow the signs and other prompts for lines and proper social distancing.
