Jackson Hole Fire/EMS provides Emergency Medical Services from each of our six stations spread across the valley. Our services range from Basic Life Support (BLS) 1st response through Advanced Life Support (ALS) Paramedic level ambulance transport, including inter-facility transfers for patients requiring the services of larger medical centers in the region.
All members (over 100 personnel), both volunteer and paid, are medically certified and able to provide care to those requiring assistance. Two ALS ambulances are staffed 24/7 with paramedic crews at the Jackson and Moose-Wilson Road stations. Two additional ALS ambulances are available to be staffed as needed at the Jackson and Adams Canyon stations. The Hoback station staffs a BLS ambulance for calls in its response area. Each station’s engines and rescue units are also equipped with EMS equipment, including AEDs.
Our Medical Director is Dr. Will Smith and our Assistant Medical Director is Dr. AJ Wheeler. Both of whom have extensive pre-hospital experience and provide medical direction for our partner agencies including Grand Teton National Park, Teton County Search and Rescue, and Bridger-Teton National Forest.
We work closely with Grand Teton National Park EMS and the Teton Village Fire District to ensure quick response to medical emergencies in the outlying portions of the county utilizing automatic aid, where the closest appropriate resource is dispatched regardless of jurisdictional lines.
EMS services in the Alta area of Teton County on the west side of the Tetons are provided through agreement with the Teton County (Idaho) Fire District who provides paramedic level service to the Alta and Grand Targhee resort areas of Wyoming.
Ambulance billing is handled by EMS Billing Services Inc. out of Omaha, Nebraska.
