[ARCHIVED] Winter Update 11/20/2020

Clearing snow pic

The Teton County/Jackson Parks and Recreation Department has officially switched over to our 7-day week winter operations.  The early snow was certainly an exciting time, albeit a little earlier than we expected.   There have been many questions regarding grooming and ice rinks.  Unfortunately, the snowpack rapidly deteriorated and thinned during the warmer temperatures after the storm. Ice rinks will still be tentative December 15th start.  If we are able to get them up sooner, we will post on our website.  We need that good base and cold temperatures to get rolling and the current setup isn’t there yet.  Grooming is in the same boat.  Need the colder temperatures and more snow before we can start packing and grooming.   We were able to roll/pack Stilson loop earlier in the week, but all other locations need more snow.  Cache Creek and Emily Steven’s are skier packed and should do OK for classic skiing.  We will be updating our Twitter feed, which is linked to the P&R website when start getting out again.
