  • Reuse & Recycle First:

    • If materials are in good condition, consider donating to local reuse organizations, including the Teton Habitat ReStore (operated by Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Teton Area). This supports affordable housing efforts and diverts usable materials from the waste stream.

    • Before heading to the Trash Transfer Station, take a moment to sort out what can be reused or recycled from your construction and remodeling project. Clean, untreated wood can be turned into mulch or compost, keeping it out of the landfill and giving it new life. Scrap metal items should be separated and placed in the metal pile for recycling. Even stretchy plastic film—like pallet wrap or packaging overwrap—can be recycled when clean and dry. By taking the time to sort your load, you can help reduce waste, lower tipping fees, and support a more sustainable community.

  • Disposal Instructions:

    • Place in your trash, bring to the Trash Transfer Station, or contact your waste hauler.

    • Clean wood and mostly metal items must be separated into the correct piles at the Trash Transfer Station.

    • If not sorted properly, a sort fee will apply.

    • For sorting requirements, see the Tipping and Sort Fees” guide.

  • Special Instructions for Bricks and Concrete:

    • Must be separated from general trash.

    • Slabs should be no larger than 2'x2'x2'.

    • Protruding steel, rebar, or wood must be cut flush.

    • Synthetic rock or masonry is accepted as trash.

    • For questions about concrete disposal, call (307) 733-7678.
