Fire Extinguisher Discharged and Deheaded Extinguishers: If your fire extinguishers have been completely discharged and deheaded (the heads generally screw off), they can be dropped off at the Recycling Center or the Trash Transfer Station for scrap metal recycling after inspection.

Non-Discharged Extinguishers: If the extinguishers have not been discharged, neither Teton County Integrated Solid Waste and Recycling (ISWR) nor Jackson Fire/EMS can accept them.

Jackson Hole Security at (307) 733-8372 (They also offer recharging services.)
Food Scraps  Household food waste can be taken to the Recycling Center during office hours for up to 5-gallon buckets ($2/bucket). Larger quantities from restaurants and stores can be taken to the Trash Transfer Station for composting.

If in usable condition, donate (try Habitat for Humanity ReStore or online groups); Trash Transfer Station if unusable.

Milk cartons, juice cartons and soup cartons These are typically paperboard with waxes, plastics or foils embedded. They cannot be recycled in Teton County at this time and can be put in the trash.
